Engineering Summer Academy
The Saint Louis University Engineering Summer Academy is a six-day, five-night residential camp where rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors can learn about the varying fields and career paths in engineering.
Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology faculty and student mentors guide academy participants through hands-on activities in aerospace and mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer and electrical engineering, and civil engineering.
Academy participants also attend off-campus excursions into the engineering industry, hear from guest speakers working in the field and explore Saint Louis University.

Payment is not collected until acceptance decisions have been made. Full and partial scholarships are available. Students wishing to be considered for a scholarship should submit the scholarship application in addition to the general application by March 13.
Tuition covers all meals, room and board, materials and activities during the academy, including field trips, academic modules and evening entertainment. Transportation between St. Louis Lambert International Airport, Amtrak’s St. Louis station and SLU’s campus at the beginning and end of the academy is included for out-of-state students.
The scholarship application period for the 2022 camp has closed.
Full and partial scholarships to be used toward the Summer Academy tuition are available based on financial need and merit. Submit the scholarship application by March 13 in order to be considered.
Scholarship applicants must complete all camp registration requirements plus the online scholarship application. The application will ask you to answer the following questions:
- Why do you want to attend the Engineering Summer Academy?
- Why are you applying for a scholarship for the Summer Academy?
- Why are you a viable or deserving scholarship candidate? (Consider scholastic or academic achievements, extracurricular activities, demonstrated interests, etc.)
